Mum’s Preschools—Papua New Guinea
There are an estimated 550,000 five-to-seven year old’s in Papua New Guinea. Most live in villages without electricity. Few have access to public schools. If they are in walking distance to a school, they begin to attend at age 7.
With our Mums Preschool program, we have dedicated teachers who teach children in their own village. Our primarily role—providing Learning Dynamics reading systems and training teachers. We have also begin to build small, village schools.
We are currently supporting over 250 teachers. Class size range from 15 to 90 children! The Mum’s Preschool Association of PNG continually turns away teachers who want to start a preschool. Funding would help solve this issue!
